OSHA/EPA Compliance Assistance

All facilities need to comply with multiple OSHA and EPA regulations and rulings.  Tri-Tech can help your facility avoid costly fines from non-compliance in the following areas:

Control of Hazardous Energy - OSHA 1910.147

  • Lockout/Tagout - We can develop LOTO (or Control of Hazardous Energy) procedures for your plant's equipment to comply with OSHA 1910.147.  These can be in any format to fit your plant's LOTO program or CMMS.
  • Process Safety Management - Management of spare parts, both for start-up spares or for an operating facility is an area where major cost savings can be realized.  The number of required spares on hand can be reduced through experience and analysis of installed equipment and improving the management and procurement strategies.

Process Safety Management (PSM) for Highly Hazardous Chemicals - OSHA 1910.119
Risk Management Program (RPM)
- EPA 40 CFR 68
Tri-Tech can work with your staff in implementing a comprehensive information database, which meets the intent of the OSHA standard, which are also similar to the elements required in EPA's Risk Management Program.  Our services can be tailored to completely and comprehensively (or augment your technical staff ) help your plant overcome the burdensome task of compiling this information. Our services include:

  • Process Safety Information - Tri-Tech compiles and develops detailed plant specific System Descriptions covering the process, its hazards, process limitations, and system/equipment control information.
  • Operating Procedures - Detailed plant specific Operating Procedures provide clear step-by-step instructions for initial startup, normal operation, temporary operation, emergency shutdown, emergency operation, normal shutdown, and startup following an emergency shutdown.
  • Training - Plant specific initial and refresher Training can be developed and instructed for the personnel associated with the process containing the highly hazardous chemicals.
  • Mechanical Integrity - Plant specific maintenance procedures, maintenance training, and PM programs are developed for the ongoing integrity of the process equipment.
  • Management of Change - Tri-Tech can develop and deliver a plant specific procedure covering the change to the process.
  • Emergency Planning and Response - Tri-Tech can develop a plant specific evacuation procedure and procedures for handling small and large releases from the facility.
  • Compliance Assessments - Tri-Tech can coordinate a complete assessment of the plant documentation, operating procedures, and practices to ensure whether your plant is in compliance with the OSHA regulation.
